Introductions

Allow me to introduce myself!
I'm Nick, 23, living and working in Hollywood as an Animator! I'm currently working at Titmouse Inc. on Metaloclaypse as a flash character animator. I also recently worked freelance for Canal-Z on the beginning of a 3D (maya) animated series intended to teach kids to write in cursive.
I'm pretty fresh to in industry seeing as I just graduated from Woodbury University, in Burbank in May.
But I thought this group would have awesome potential for us LA animators to network a little without the awkwardness of forcing ourselves to make small talk!

Anyway, it's good to meet you, Dr. It just so happens I'm a big fan of Titmouse and Chris Prynoski. I first started following you guys after Megas XLR, so it's a pleasure to meet you.

I'm Denny, I forget my age sometimes, and I'm bouncing around the LA area trying to find a good place to live. I've looked at Valencia (no work) and Burbank (which I like) and I'm open to any advice for when my lease expires (keeping in mind living on a budget). I'm looking to finish a couple private projects, then freelance a bit more and play the studio circuit when I'm satisfied with my skills. Speaking of my private and freelance projects, I should get to work.

I remember watching Rocko's Modern Life when I was a kid, and my Dad tried to explain to me that people actually get paid to create cartoons. It still makes me really happy to walk into a studio.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Dr. Madness! on October 31, 2007 at 3:35am: Ha! Whenever I get frustrated or feel stressed about work I think, "Hey! you're getting paid to make cartoons! You could be filing paper or crunching numbers! Relax!"

Yeah I use flash to board, draw it straight in and time it out to sound and you've got a rough animatic ready to go! Using paper creates that clutter you don't really want to throw away but you hate that its taking up so much space!
