Chowder?

Hey everyone, I've been seeing/hearing the ads for Chowder, the new show on Cartoon Network. It looks good. Anyone know anything about it or even worked on it?
I know it premiers tomorrow night. Anyone else looking forward to it?

The only thing I'm worried about it the potential for fart jokes.

I've seen a lot of the promos and I think I've already fallen in love with the girl character, "Panini" - she's basically his crush and she's hysterical. She's got a really cute design. I was also curious about the puppets I saw in the commercials... Are they going to have some kind of puppet sequence? They've got me interested, the style is really different from the other shows on right now.

Finally got to watch an episode! It's even better than I thought. I love the mix of stop motion and puppets into show. It's really awesome to finally see something that's truly a mixed media show - and not only that but to have very pleasing and interesting designs for all of the elements. I have to say one of my favorite parts was when they were counting all of the steps with some stop motion and by the time they got to 80 something there was this little kid voice whining "I wanna go home!" and I couldn't stop laughing.

It's the clever little details like that that really make a show fun.

It's great! My pal Carl Greenblatt created it, and you've seen his work on Spongebob and Billy & Mandy (Where he created and voiced Fred Fredburger). Other crew includes Anna Chambers, Dan Krall, Phil Rynda, and many other Dexter's Lab/Powerpuff/Billy & Mandy alum.

Totally funny, charming, and original. Check out a preview episode HERE.

I'm really looking forward to it. C.H. Greenblatt wrote/boarded some of the best episodes of Spongebob and Billy & Mandy. He does a lot of hilarious expressions and character takes and his writing is hilarious. The pilot seemed to be a hit, so I'm really hyped for the series.

Simply outstanding. I'm loving the puppets and the set models they have going on too.
I am very impressed with Chowder as a character over-all too (from what I've seen so far in these sneek-peeks).
looks well written... I'm looking forward to to the premiere, got to remember to set my DVR so I don't miss it.

Man I wish I could watch it, heck any American TV right now...

Great stuff I've seen on Carl's blog! I look forward to seeing it soon!

i totally saw it last night. just for style alone i thought it was brilliant, but the clay models of the oddly delicious-looking foods were probably my favorite part.

Yes! I saw it too. I'm so impressed by this show, perhaps it's the best new show this season. I hope it gets good support from CN.

I watched an episode for the first time last night.
I thought it was mostly very good.
I especially loved the surreal nature of the show.
I think the Truffles character has a truly awful voice that hurts the show.
The chef/professor character has a GREAT voice but I don't like his design.
He looks like he belongs to a different universe.
I also love the stop motion segments but wonder if they really bring anything to the show (I guess it adds to the surreal nature).
Perhaps they'll be phased out one day...
Well done to everyone involved.
It's not the usual cartoon fare and it's full of entertaining characters and for the most part manages not to spend it's running time being shrill and awful like most CN productions.

i personally wouldn't trade the head chef guy away for anything. His mouth is hilarious. I think i probly watch the show mostly just so i can see his mouth move.
i admit the jokes kinda flop at times and i agree about truffle's voice.. but at east when you don't care for the particular jokes it gives a chance to just enjoy the cool stuff in the background.

I saw the previews and I really looked forward to it. CHG has created some really great episodes of shows on Nick and CN.

I saw it with the best intentions, but this show isn't working for me.. I think it's try a little too hard with a lot of the jokes. The look and designs are incredible, but they're almost meaningless if you have a bad idea. I like the idea of this show, but something about it isn't working for me. I don't think it was done very well with such a strong idea behind it. I don't think the characters are strong enough either or relatable...I don't really feel for the character chowder so much, and I don't really think too many of the stories are funny...There were a couple jokes I thought we alright but I don't think it was exciting. I was kinda waiting for something funny to happen the whole time. And I waited because CHG is usually a funny guy. Overall, I think CHG might be better at writing on shows that have well developed characters rather than creating them... I wish Carl the best, but I'm not too pumped for this show.

I'm no expert, and you might say my ideas suck, but that's my honest opinion and it's constructive.

Best,
Steve

not sure if he created Fred fredburger, but you get the idea of what I'm saying. FFB is a character in an already developed idea.
