Tim Farrell

Introduce yourself

I'm Tim.

Since we're all animators, I'm not sure what else to say. I sometimes work at Radical as a compositor, and I'm writing, voicing, and animating a series of short greetings for JibJab Media. I'd like steadier employment and a talking dog.

Woo.

Hi Tim! I'm still hanging around Atlanta, trying to get some freelance stuff while I work on my portfolio. Nice to see you on Raw!

Frederator sent me an invite, and I'm a whore for social networks.

Sorry to hear about the studio. I never did get to freelance over there, and I live just a few blocks down Ralph McGill.

Yeah, I'm sorry about Primal too. ;o) Its a great studio, and I hope it pulls through these slim times. So do you ever come to ASIFA events?

Reply to This

No, but after I missed the last one at the end of Oct it occurred to me what a bad idea that has generally been. I'm trying to make a point of it to actually go to them now. Most of the animation people I know in town are limited to people who work or used to work at Radical. That hasn't been very helpful in getting freelance work.

Well, at this point even if you knew Ted Turner the freelance work in this town would still be pretty dead. But thats so cool that you're doing work for JibJab! And "Email!" was such a popular short that I think you could make a successful series out of it.

Honestly, there's got to be more animators from Atlanta here....

I know of two who haven't joined.

Wull, kick their asses. By the by, do you ever go to Boozer Doodle at the Vortex?

Reply to This

I don't even know what that is. (GOOGLING...)

Two years of art school made the part about the tator tots more exciting than the part about drawing hot ladies. Bring in the lumpy chicks. They're easier to draw :P

I may show up for one of these. I've clearly never been that great at figure drawing, and you only improve with doing. Doing often requires me to be a little drunk, so my bases are covered.

I've never been myself- I'm a curmudgeon and I balk at any price that has more than one digit. But I figure if its a drawing/drinking/social event where I get to reacquaint names with faces, its a pretty good deal. Maybe I'll see you at the next one!

Boozer Doodle? That sounds like fun.
How is everybody?
Just a quick intro. I'm an animator/cartoonist in the Atlanta area.
I do most of my work at night as I am also a dad during the day with my daughter.
Primal was a great place to freelance. Doug Grimmet has one of the driest senses of humor
I know of.
That's about all for now.

That sounds like a lot of fun, and apparently its tonight! I think I migt just attend that.
