KATAMARI CHOWDAR?!

The Simpsons did a similar "homage" to katamari a couple seasons back. Though, the idea of a ball rolling around collecting mass has been around for a very long time, I'm not necessarily sure the game and cartoon uses are related other than the fact that it leads to comedy gold.

With all the buzz this show is getting on this board, we can assume 2 things:
1. It is was developed, written and animated well
2. CN will probably pull it off the air before the third season because the ratings are too high and it's making "Out of Jimmy's Head" look bad. Which will hinder CN's dreams of one day being a live-action only network with more fart jokes than Nick. "If you want cartoons, go to Boomerang." they will say.

im absolutely sure they were doing katamari, Theres no mistaking that the music sounded like the katamari theme, and then the (seemingly) random shot of the head chef smiling then screaming incoherently.. but i totally know what you're saying.. and i cant watch 30 seconds of 'Out of Jimmys Head' without involuntarily changing the channel. It seriously looks like a clone of that nick show i cant watch for 30 seconds either.

Yeah, saw the scene. if anyone says that it doesn't look like a Katamari homage, they are idiots. The music is a variation, everything is rolling, and getting picked up, yeah, I loved it. Which makes the show ALL the much better.

(BTW: I agree with Tim Ingle's comment about how Chowder shall rule Cartoon Network and make out of who-care's head look bad.)

The Simpsons have made a few video game homages during its run. They made a tetris homage (Making all of the kids squares, L, T, I, ect) And at the end, there is no room for Homer, who did the whole thing, and goes "Do'h.' Futurama has a lot of video game stuffs, in fact, if you look at a lot of shows, they will have video games focused as the main plot devise. (CSI or some other show, though, made second life look bad)

well second life IS bad.. its just crap, but yeah.
The new Simpsons game has entire fully animated cinema sequences and the game is pretty much a giant poke at games in general. It's supposed to be a big episode interactive of the Simpsons more or less.

Have you played this on the PS3? It is interesting to see the animated sequences in "HD"... reality is, they are vector-based animations and have a frame rate near 5fps. I am very disappointed in the quality of the animated sequences. The game is kinda fun, but the weak animated sequences turn me off so much. I guess most gamers/fans of the series wouldn't care about that though.

What I said about Second Life (They made it seem bad), what I meant to say, was that they made it look like is was overun by murderers (Spelling?).
And when I was talking about tetris in the simpsons, I wasn't talking about their new game, I was talking about how they had a gag where the joke was about tetris (In the episode)

one of those CSI shows had a thing making furries look like depraved psychopaths too, which isn't entirely true at all. thats totally off-topic though
